The Most Important Thing to Blake Gideon
Growing up as as a small boy in rural SE Oklahoma my mom often took my sister and I to a little country church. One morning while at church my older sister made a decision to follow Christ. Everyone was excited, I wanted everyone to be excited for me too, so I followed her. Soon after we were both baptized. Sad to say, there was nothing genuine about my decision. Growing up I lived a life of sinful rebellion against God.
In my early twenties I had two near death experiences. These two experiences caused me to question my own mortality. For many years I had been playing games with God and deceiving myself. I finally owned up to my hypocrisy. On April 14th, 2000 I genuinely repented of sin and surrendered my life to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. No games this time, I fully surrendered to Him. Soon after I was genuinely baptized.
Now I have the peace of God in my heart. I know that when I die one day I will be with Jesus. He has saved me. He has forgiven my sin and promised me eternal life. He will do the same for you if you are willing to surrender your life to Him. Trust Him! Jesus is the Son of God who died and rose again for you. Ask Him to save you and be The Lord of your life.
