The Most Important Thing to Darcy Stricker

I grew up in church and actually loved going to church. I was told how I had sinned and needed Christ in my life and I believed the people that told me. But, as a seven year old girl I thought if I got saved I would not be allowed to be funny and wild anymore. Instead, I thought it required me to be serious at all times.
Eventually the conviction became overwhelming. I continued hearing the salvation message and guilt filled me each time but I tried to push it to the back of my mind. After a stubborn rebellion I could not fight it any longer and I told God one night in my bed as a seven year old that I was willing to stop being crazy and funny because I know I need to be saved.
God let me keep being crazy though and loved me with an unconditional love regardless of my personality! This first power struggle with God was one of many to come, but God is shaping and molding my life into what He has designed for me and I couldn't be happier!
