The Most Important Thing to John Schmidt

749 hits

I grew up in a very loving Catholic family that attended church regularly, but I just did not learn what it meant to have a personal relationship with God. I met and married a wonderful person who showed me what it was like to have a trust and faith in Christ.

At age 20 I asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins and invited Him into my heart. Since that time He has been my source of peace, hope, and strength, even through tough times. The promise that God is always near was never more evident as when my daughter was born with a severe heart defect, and through His promise and the prayers and support of many in our Church, I was able to find strength and hope, even through this difficult time.

God didn't promise me I wouldn't face trials on earth, but He did promise me that He would never leave me, nor forsake me, as long as I turn to Him for everything, He will provide, and He always has! I pray that if you don't have a personal relationship with Christ, that you make that decision soon. It will be the most important decision you will ever make.
