The Most Important Thing to Mark Lyle

My father died at a young age and I grew up being very independent. I felt like I had things under control and could take care of every situation myself. But somewhere deep inside I had an incredible sense of un-rest. I felt empty inside and knew that something was missing.

I had religion "crammed" down my throat, and consequently I made several trips to the altar, but I was never serious about any of them. The summer of 1977 I was attending a revival and as the week of services progressed I felt something that I had never experienced before. It was an intense feeling that I was headed down a wrong road. I needed to make some drastic changes and make them quick.

One night of revival, I asked Jesus Christ into my heart, I asked Him to forgive me and be the Lord of my life. And you know what? He did. And since that day, my life has never been the same. I learned right away that I could not handle all of my situations, I needed someone much stronger and much wiser, and that someone was Jesus. I am so thankful that He loved me enough to die for me. And because of His death, I'm ALIVE!
